WayteQ and ZTE to join forces

Following ZTE Blade’s success the next smartphone hit Wayteq Libra is on the way

June 28, 2011 – The two dominant players of the mobile phone and navigation markets have recently signed a cooperation agreement.  As a result a number of ZTE devices will be introduced into the market as unlocked products under the WayteQ brand. The first fruit of the agreement will be the WayteQ Libra, successor of ZTE Blade, the well-known price/performance champion of the smartphone market.

With unrivaled features in its price category WayteQ Libra will hit the shelves with a 3.5 inch, 480x800 pixel resolution capacitive touchscreen, a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and a multilingual Android 2.2 operating system. The manufacturers plan to make the product available independently and with different navigation softwares as well. Chinese headquartered ZTE’s mobile phones have been showing up in the selection of service providers lately, as a result of the persevering development work of recent years. And now their products are becoming available on the unlocked phone market as well, owing to the cooperation with WayteQ.

ZTE’s devices fit perfectly in the soon to be launched Android based product portfolio –including Tablet PC’s and PNA’s as well-, of the Hong-Kong originated Hungarian PNA market leader, WayteQ.

The two companies plan to come up with several more common developments in Europe this year. ZTE’s excellent product quality combined with WayteQ’s navigation expertise is likely to be a highly successful call in the world of smartphones.
